The ‘Battle of Averasboro’ started on 15th of March in the year 1865. Defensive line was, however, drawn on 17th of March. Averasboro Battlefield Commission, Inc., i.e. ABCI was assigned the task of preserving and presenting story of this battle (following the war). Averasboro Battlefield Museum is an outcome of this assignment.
