Brightleaf Square is a mixed use complex of retail shops, art galleries, office space and dining in downtown Durham. It is the named after the Bright Leaf Historic District. The square has a 340 acre campus which has historic tobacco warehouses. Moreover, the square occupies the former Watts and Yuille tobacco warehouses that were built from 1900 to 1904. These warehouses were built by the American Tobacco Company and were designed in an Italianate style, constructed with ornate brick exteriors.
