Durham has various attractions in the form of art places, events and festivals, golf courses, sports activities and nature parks. A historic landmark of the city is the Carolina Theatre of Durham which dates back to 1926. It consists of the Fletcher Hall which is the main stage, the Kirby Lobby and the Connie Moses Ballroom. Documentaries, plays and various film festivals keep the place alive.
The Durham Central Park is a famous Municipal Park in the city which houses various art pieces and collectibles, a beautiful butterfly garden and lush lawns. Also worth visiting is the North Carolina Museum of Life and Science, featuring an array of exhibits on natural science.
Featuring six weeks of summer festivities including modern dance performances by various artists is the American Dance Festival where visitors could also try learning different techniques of dance.
