The North Carolina Museum of Art is a museum which houses various art collections of North Carolina. Seventy percent of its budget is from private funds which are collected by the NC Museum of Art Foundation. There are some extensive permanent collections. The park is a laboratory for experimenting with environmental art and with ecological restoration.
The admission is free to the Museum and there are charges for special exhibitions and such programs like classes, films and certain performances.
