When to visit

North Carolina is a beautiful paradise for the travelers having some of the best coastal beaches on the Atlantic seaboard. Many can visit this state for the Appalachian Mountains for a skiing trip or for playing golf at one of the upscale golfing resorts in the Sand hills.  Other than the major cities of this state like Raleigh, Charlotte and Greensboro, many can visit the smaller towns for its historical sites like Winston Salem, Fayetteville and Durham.

North Carolina experiences four distinct seasons, each season having something or the other for the travelers. The summer season (July and August), by far, is the busiest season of all to travel to this state. This is the precise time when the hotels charge high rates and transportation, especially roads, will have the heaviest loads. Spring (March and April) too has similar popularity like the summer, with the beaches totally filled with people.

If planning to visit the state in autumn, one can plan a drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway, known to be one of the most colorful drives in North America. For those who plan to see North Carolina in winter, can enjoy skiing at the Appalachian Ski Mountain or even taste wine from many of the wineries open during this time of the year.
