Tourist Guide Bismarck
Located on the left bank of Missouri River, Bismarck is the capital city of the US State of North Dakota. The city is also the county seat of Burleigh County. Bismarck lies in the Great Plains, situated between the Rocky Mountains and the Great Lakes.
Bismarck experiences a semi-arid continental climate. Winters are long and severe while summers are humid but short. Thunderstorms occur in spring and summers. The warmest month is July with an average temperature of 29°C while the coldest is January with a mean temperature of -6.7°C.
With about 55,500 inhabitants, Bismarck is the second most populous city in North Dakota.
In 1874, Bismarck’s growth gained a much needed momentum with the influx of gold seekers due to the discovery of gold in the nearby Black Hills. It now serves as a major hub for government, business and finance.
