In the United States, in North Central Dakota there is a city called as Minot. It is the fourth largest city in the state. It was established in 1886 and is also called as “Minot City.” This city is a trading center for southeastern Saskatchewan, southwestern Manitoba and a considerable region of northern North Dakota. The Mouse River or Souris River stretches across this city from West to East. Minot is separated from Bismarck by almost 170 kilometers. The total area of the city is 14.6 square miles and this is almost completely land. Only 0.14 percent of the total landmass of the city is occupied by the Souris River and its oxbow lakes.
Minot had a population of 36,567 as per the 2000 census.
