Wahpeton had been founded in the year 1869. It’s amongst the principal cities of Wahpeton metropolitan Statistical Area; inclusive of North Dakota, Richland County, and Wilkin County (Minnesota).
The ‘Otter Tail River’ and ‘Bois de Sioux River’ come forward to have joined at Wahpeton as well as Breckenridge to have formed ‘Red River of the North’. Wahpeton houses North Dakota State College of Science. ‘Wahpeton Daily News’ is the newspaper operating on the local level.
