Brecksville has a vibrant downtown shopping area, with unique stores housed in mostly restored 19th century buildings. There are several shopping centres just outside of the downtown area.
Brecksville hosts its annual Home Days festival each June, with live entertainment, food, arts, and crafts, and a parade. In addition, the Brecksville Little Theatre has been entertaining audiences since 1941 and hosts three productions each season in the historic Old Town Hall building.
Brecksville has the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The scenic area offers history, hiking, bicycling, winter sports, and all sports of learning opportunities.
The other park here is Cleveland Metroparks, which was founded in 1917. This is oldest park system in Ohio and now encompasses over 20,000 acres of parkland. Facilities include the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, a marina, several gold courses, riding stables, and miles and miles of biking and hiking trails.
