Little Italy is a neighborhood at the base of Murray Hill. It has lots of Italian restaurants and serves as the center of Italian culture. Chef Boyardee opened his first restaurant, II Giardino d’ Italia in Little Italy in 1940s. The neighborhood is home to many private art galleries and two private schools. For decades, it was home to the largest Mafia organization between Chicago and New York. Whether, it is places to eat, galleries to visit or such shops to shop, Little Italy has it all.
