Ada is located in Okhlahoma Main Street and is also a County Seat of Pontotoc County.

In the year 1889 Jeff Reed who was a Texan came to this place with his family and constructed a log house and a store with his name.  After him came the rest of the dwellers and in the year 1891, a post office was built in the name of John Reed’s daughter Ada. This city was established and was incorporated in the year 1901.
 
The city has a unique and well maintained United States Environmental Protection Agency water laboratory. Ada is considered to be the headquarters of the Chickasaw  Nation Indian tribe and Chickasaw Enterprises is one of the prestigious and also forms one the major employer for this place.

This palace has a mixed population that includes majority of White and African American with Native American, Asia and Pacific Islander.

With an estimated population of 16,008 according to 2000 census this place has a wonderful landscape.

This place experiences a pleasant climate that draws tourists throughout the year.
