Lying in the south-eastern region of Oklahoma the city of Atoka was previously known as ‘Shappaway’, later it was renamed in the name of its king. It is located at the latitude 34.42N and longitude 96.03W. With humidity 100%25 and dew-point of 57 degree Fahrenheit the city of Atoka experiences mostly cloudy atmosphere and moderate rainfall in some of its regions. The township has a total area of 990 sq. miles of which 978 sq. miles is land area and the remaining area is covered with water bodies. According to the recent population census the people living in the city of Atoka is about 14,300, i.e., it has population density of 15 per sq. miles. The city of Atoka is well known for its fishing and hunting activities. The city has excellent schools, institutions and provides all kinds of services.
