Lawton is located close to Wichita Mountains in Comanche County in Oklahoma, USA. It was founded on 6 August 1901 and has gradually become a very important centre for cultural as well as commercial purposes.
This city has a population of approximately 93,000 people and covers an area of around 194 sq km. The topography of Lawton is breathtakingly beautiful, comprising hills, meadows carpeted with colourful wildflowers, wildlife refuge and so forth. Days in winters are warm, but nights can get very cold as temperatures may fall below –2°C in December and January. Summers are hot with a daytime average temperature of around 35°C.
Granite deposits and cotton fields form one of the most important contributors to the economy of this city. Tourism and small businesses are also some of the other important commercial activities.
