The Grand Lake O’ the Cherokees was created in 1940 along with the Pensacola Dam. It is known as one of the premiere lakes in the Midwest and also the crown jewel of a number of lakes in the north east of Oklahoma region. One can enjoy many water sports in the 46,500 surface acres of water and this includes skiing, boating, swimming, sailing and fishing. This lake is quite famous amongst the sail boat enthusiast.
