Woodward is a city in Woodward County in Oklahoma, USA. Tribes such as Kiowa, Comanche, Cheyenne and Arapaho were the aboriginals of this region. It was founded in1887 and presently houses a population of nearly 12,000 residents. It has an area of around 34 sq km and is located along the North Canadian River, very close to the cities Guymon and Enid. The city has some tragic memories of the most violent tornado that hit in 1947 causing widespread destruction.
The economy of Woodward is booming. Agriculture, business and industries are significant contributors to the city’s economic growth. There is a balance between the three sectors which has resulted in the rapid development of this community.
The city has warm summers and mild winters. The maximum average summer temperature is nearly 34°C. In winters, the maximum average temperature is about 10°C.
