The coastal strip of the park is a sandy beach bordered by a forest area. On the strip, one can find the popular 15 km long Ozette Loop, 5 km of which is a boardwalk.
During the winter months, Hurricane Ridge turns into a popular alpine skiing area, with the Hurricane Ridge Winter Sports Club offering ski lessons and rentals. Cross-country skiing is an excellent way to observe the park’s surroundings.
Obstruction Point is open from mid-summer to early fall and has great views of Mount Olympus. Fishing is best at the freshwater Lake Crescent (a deep, glacier-carved lake teeming with beardslee trout), while the Lake Quinault Lodge offers boat rentals.
The Makah Cultural and Research Center in Neah Bay is open to visitors who would like to know more about the culture of the region. The two other national parks in the state which can be accessed from Olympic are the Mount Rainier National Park and North Cascades National Park.
