Tourist Guide Burns:

Burns is a city situated in Harney County in the state of Oregon in U.S.A. The city is named after Robert Burns, a Scottish poet.

The city covers a total area of 3.6 sq miles and has an elevation of 4,147. The city has a desert like climate with very little rain (12 inches) and 48 inches of snowfall on an average. There are 211 sunny days in a year with July being the warmest month and January the coldest.

Burns and Harney County are the right places to visit for those looking for outdoor activities such as backpacking, hiking, camping, boating and fishing.

The city is a gateway to the picturesque Steens Mountains from the other cities of Oregon. The Steens Mountain has a collection of lakes, meadows, gorges and overlooks the Alvord desert.
