Depoe Bay has a Whale watching center to assist visitors to view whale migration and study whales and other marine animals with respect to their ecological influences, environmental influences, economics and history. This visitor center is staffed by Oregon state parks. From mid-December to the end of January, almost 18,000 whales migrate southward close to this center.
