Tourist Guide Florence
The city of Florence lies on the northern edge of the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area in Oregon, USA. It is spread over an area of 14.3 sq km and has a population of around 8,000.
Even though Florence has a mild climate, it may experience severe weather conditions. The average summer temperature is 18°C, and in winter, the average temperature is 10°C. Winter is sometimes accompanied by ocean storms that ravage the coastal areas.
Originally inhabited by the Siuslaw Indians, the area was incorporated in 1893. Due to its location, it became a logging and fishing centre. The Siuslaw River that passes through Florence was the focal point of its growth.
The city is characterized with massive sand dunes, a rugged coastline, dense forests and gorgeous beaches. The city has become a tourist centre because of its breathtaking beauty and historic attractions.
