The city of Hillsboro is located in the Tualatin Valley and is situated in Oregon, USA. Bordered by the Tualatin River in the north, the city covers an area of 59 sq km.
The climate in Hillsboro is conducive to agriculture and is evident in the many farmlands found in the city. The temperatures are moderated by the Pacific Ocean. Summers are warm with an average temperature of 16°C, while in winter temperatures can drop to 0°C.
The city was incorporated in 1876 and is the government seat of Washington County. Established as a small farming community, it has grown into a technological hub with a population of around 70,000.
Hillsboro displays a unique blend of the old and the new. Even though it has grown into a modern city, it has maintained its Old World charm.
On one hand, it is home to many parks, historical buildings and rural beauty, and on the other, it is lined with modern buildings and multinational companies.
