The city of Klamath Falls is situated in southwest Oregon, USA, along the southern shore of the Upper Klamath Lake. Located to the east of the Cascade Mountains, the city covers an area of 48.5 sq km and has a population of around 20,000.
Klamath Falls has a dry climate. Summers are warm with temperatures of 27°C. Winters are cool and snowy with an average temperature of 4°C. Oregon’s ‘City of Sunshine’ enjoys over 300 days of sunshine per year.
Originally known as Linkville, the city was incorporated in 1905 and is the county seat of Klamath County. From a predominantly agricultural community, it has grown into a diverse economy.
Home to the Crater Lake National Park, the city is made up of snow-capped mountains in the west and a high desert area in the east. Visitors can indulge in fishing and sight-seeing along the innumerable lakes and streams or explore the city’s history in its museums.
