The city of Medford is situated in Jackson County in Oregon, USA. Located in Rouge Valley between the Cascade Range and Siskiyou Mountains, the city is spread over an area of 56.2 sq km.
Medford has a dry climate as it receives very little rain. The climate is warm in summer with an average temperature of 30°C, while in winter the average temperature is around 7°C.
The city was founded on the Oregon and California Railroad line in the Bear Creek Valley and was incorporated in 1885. It has a population of around 74,000 with agriculture and timber as its predominant industries.
Affordable lodging and pleasant weather has made Medford a popular tourist spot. Its terrain facilitates a host of outdoor activities like fishing, boating and kayaking. Famous for its pear and timber products, the city is lined with fruit and timber trees.
