Oregon City is supposed to be the first city in the western part of United States that is situated near the Rocky Mountains. It is located in the Clackamas County in the Oregon state at an elevation of 45 meters above the sea level. According to the 2000 census the population in the city was found to be around 25,754. The population has increased to 29,560 according to the census measure in 2006. This fair population increase in 6 years indicates that it is one of the densely populated regions in Oregon. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town is supposed to have a total area of about 8.4 square miles, out of which 8.1 square miles is covered by land and only 0.3 square miles is under water. About 75% of the population declared themselves as Protestant whereas only 15 percent follow Christianity. The climate in Oregon City is similar to the other U.S cities with average temperatures ranging between 10 to 15 degrees. Humidity in the air increases in the month of November and December.
