Tourist Guide Pendleton

The city of Pendleton is located in the steep hills of the Blue Mountains along the Umatilla River in Oregon, USA. It covers an area of 26 sq km and has a population of 17,000.

Pendleton has a dry climate with low humidity, very little rain and occasional snowfall. Summers are warm with temperatures ranging from 22°C to 35°C. The average temperature in winter is 1°C.

Incorporated in 1880, this farming and ranching city is the county seat of Umatilla County. The city is home to the famous Pendleton Woollen Mills, one of America’s greatest lines of clothing and blankets. Pendleton has a rich and infamous history which is evident in its downtown area.

Pendleton is host to the annual Round-Up, one of the most prestigious rodeos in North America. There are many opportunities for recreational activities in its ecological landmarks like the Blue Mountain State Scenic Corridor.
