In order to learn about the history of the city one must visit the Umatilla County Historical Museum. The museum is spread over a spacious area. It features a variety of historical documents and artifacts of this county and the surrounding area. The peak attraction in this museum is the 10 feet long shoeshine stand that is completely made up of marble.
Children visiting Pendleton city can have a good time at the Children's Museum of Eastern Oregon. The museum houses various specialty rooms where Japanese art, crafts and other artifacts are kept.
