The Pearl district in the downtown area of Portland was once a crumbling industrial warehouse which has now been renovated into a chic urban area.

The run down warehouses have been reconstructed into luxurious condos, lofts and townhouses making this a prime locality.

There are several specialty retailers, trendy boutiques, art galleries, restaurants, book stores and groceries appearing in this area.

There is a wide variety of multi-cuisine options like Italian and French cuisines, fast food joints and regular cafes serving delicious menus.

The Japanese Garden is also situated here.

The district has the world’s largest bookstore and some of the finest art galleries which show exhibits of local artists along with holding popular traditional events with live music and wine.

Jamison Square, in the heart of the Pearl district, has a park with a waterfall, sculptures and an espresso bar.
