Established in 1892, the Portland Art Museum is the oldest art museum on the west coast and the seventh in United States. It had undergone many renovations and at present, it is one of the twenty five largest art museums in the United States. It is a 240,000 square feet of museum which permanent collection of more than 42,000 of works of art. As in 2002, it had estimated to having 445,000 visitors in a year. The director of the museum is Brian J Ferriso and the curator is Bruce Guenther.
