The Oregon State in the United States has a Clackamas County in which there is an unincorporated community called as Welches. Welches and some other communities make up the villages of Mount Hood. Welches is situated along U.S. route 26 between Wemme and Zigzag within the Mount Hood Corridor. As per the Oregon Geographic Names, the name of this community is derived from Samuel Welch, a homesteader who settled close to Welches Creek in 1881. In 1905, establishment of a post office took place here. In 1928, the initial golf course in the state was constructed in this community. At present, the largest hotel and golf resort in the Mount Hood Corridor can be visited in Welches. This is complete with croquet courts.
July is the warmest month in Welches and experiences a temperature range of 48.8 to 70.5 degrees Fahrenheit. The coolest month is January with a temperature variation of 22 to 34.6 degrees Fahrenheit. The average annual precipitation is 84.17 inches.
