Bedford is the region of Bedford country which was established during the middle of the eighteenth century. As per the records of 2000 census, the city bears a population of around 3,141.

The real name of Bedford was Raystown, and for a number of years the city remained as the major frontier military post. As per the United States Census Bureau, Bedford covers an area of 1.1 square miles of the land.

According to the 2000 census the city houses 3,141 residents, 1,536 households and around 832 families. The ethnicity of Bedford includes White people, Native Americans, Asians, Pacific Islanders, African Americans and a small portion of other religions. Bedford’s Espy house is famous for as the central office of George Washington.

Bedford had gained popularity for its medicinal springs. The city has a mineral spring, a limestone spring, a chalybeate spring, two sweet springs and a sulphur spring. The city was incorporated in the year 1795 on 13th March.
