The city of Butler is located nearly 35 miles north of Pittsburgh in Butler Country, Pennsylvania. Its elevation is 1040 feet. Butler got its name from Maj. Gen. Richard Butler who served his life for the country. The ancestors of the city include Scottish and Irish followed by Germans, English, United States and Polish. As per 2007 census, the population of Butler is 14040. Majority of its inhabitants are White. Other races include African American, Pacific Islander, and Asian. Butler is an excellent area to live with its pleasant weather. The warmest month is July with an average temperature of 81 degree Fahrenheit, whereas the coldest month is January with an average temperature of 19 degree Fahrenheit. The average rainfall is 4.47 inches. There are five major highways near the city that link with its surrounding areas. The two main airports in Butler are Butler country Airport and Butler Farm Show Airport.
