Located along the beautiful Lake Erie is the city of Erie in the state of Pennsylvania, USA. This city was initially home to Native American tribes. It was founded in 1795 and was officially incorporated 1851.
Erie has a total area of nearly 73 sq km and is home to a huge population of approximately 100,000. Some of the important nearby cities are Cleveland, New York and Pittsburgh. Erie was basically an industrial city, but now tourism forms an essential part of its economy.
The topography of Erie comprises numerous and diverse natural wonders, making it a picturesque tourist destination. Winters are cold and experience a heavy rainfall, while summers are hot and humid. Tornadoes, thunderstorms and fog are quite common in this city.
