In the year 1967, Philharmonic Chorus got accompanied by full-fledged ‘symphonic orchestra’. This led to the beginning of a ‘rigorous’ music program in majority of Hazleton Area parochial schools. This program went on to teach basics of music to ‘grades’ 1 to 3. After entering in the fourth grade, students had the choice of selecting any of the stringed instruments. This way, they could continue with musical education.
