Mauch Chunk Lake in Jim Thorpe

Mauch Chunk Lake is a county park which is a perfect place for a family getaway. One can either walk or bike around the Switchback Gravity Railroad along with other trails throughout the park. The place is also perfect for renting a boat, stroll or hike through the woods to the Environmental Center in order to see birds and even unwind on the sandy beach on the park. At the Mauch Chunk Lake, one can enjoy his spring, summer, fall and winter too. This place is operated by the Parks and Recreation Department of the city of Jim Thorpe. Moreover, this is a great place for a tent campground. It even has nice and clean man made beach.
