Originally an industrial town founded in 1681, New Hope has grown into cultural centre with emphasis on theatre, arts and the antiques trade. It has a population of around 4,000.
Tourism is the primary industry of New Hope. A ferry ride on the Delaware River not only gives its visitors a glimpse of its ecosystem, but is also a very romantic experience. It is no wonder then that New Hope is slowly becoming a preferred tourist destination.
