Cuisine from around the world can be found on the streets of Philadelphia.  From Falafels to Tacos, world-famous Philly Cheese Steak Sandwiches to freshly-sliced Fruit, pizza-by-the-slice to crepes and Jerk Chicken with Yams.  Freshly-grilled flavorful pork, beef, fish and chicken tacos with the works on them plus grilled corn from the El Diablo Taco Truck (behind Union Pool) are a taste sensation.   Then there’s Magdy’s Philly Cheese Steak Cart on Park Avenue and 46th Street where you can watch them grill up a sandwich based on the city’s namesake.  Follow your nose to the tempting smells at 20ths and Market and the Falafel Truck.  Tangy grilled chicken with spicy humus, mixed greens and a fig/grape salad is served on the overflowing combo platter and includes a wheat roll and potato and roasted red pepper hash.  The garlic seasoning is perfectly scrumptious.  Try the breakfast sandwiches at John’s Lunch Cart at Spring Garden and 4th Street.  The bacon, sausage, scrapple and pastrami sandwich on a Hoagie Roll will fill you up all day long.

The Fruit Salad Cart on 16th and Walnut is a refreshing change of pace.  The three dollar fruit salads include grapes, a couple of cherries, mango, watermelon, cantaloupe, strawberries, pineapple, and an orange slice.  Each purchase includes a free banana.  It’s tough to miss Denise’s Soul Food truck parked outside the 30th Street Station.  It’s bright pink and serves up some killer Caribbean/soul food. One favorite is the Jerk Chicken served with mac and cheese, red beans and rice, and stewed cabbage.
