The Civil War Library and Museum of Philadelphia is considered the oldest chartered Civil War Institution which was founded in 1888 by The Military Order of the Loyal Legion of United States members. This museum has collection of over a century which has acquisition and conservation of artifacts, books, documentary materials and even the memorabilia of the Civil War.
