Those who want to experience the working-class feel of Philadelphia should stop in the neighborhood which was at one point thought to be named Fishtown by writer Charles Dickens who visited Fishtown in the mid-1800s.

But, in truth the origins of the name come from its location along the Delaware River where fishing was a prominent industry in the early 19th century.  Try your luck at the Sugar House Casino where slots, table games, live entertainment, dancing and dining have added a new facet to the neighborhood.  Other highlights include the Memphis Taproom, featured on the television show, “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives” (killer mouthwatering beer-battered kosher dills with Horseradish buttermilk dip) and Johnny Hots for an award-winning Philly cheesesteak.
