Rittenhouse square is a gorgeous and romantic spot alive with history, people and popular trendy restaurants and shops. Named after astronomer/clockmaker David Rittenhouse back in the early 1800s, the park in the heart of downtown Philadelphia offers visitors a visually beautiful experience with its blooming azaleas in the spring and hundreds of lights during the holidays to celebrate the season. Brownstones, and beautiful homes old buildings are an architectural delight. Trendy boutiques, outdoor cafes and first-class cuisine as well as sandwiches to-go for picnics in the park are among the offerings in the area.
Try the award-winning Rouge Burger at the Rouge American Bistro or their Fettuccine Fra Diavolo. For French Cuisine visit Parc Café for their Onion soup gratinee or their Beef Bourguignon with charred spring onions, oven dried tomatoes, and basmati rice. After dinner, enjoy the talents of local artists and street performers.
