Philadelphia is located at the distance of 25 miles on the eastern side; whereas Wilmington, Delaware lies at the distance of 17 miles on the southern side of West Chester.
Originally, this region was called ‘Turk’s Head’; after Inn of same name situated in what has been known as center of borough now. Settlement of this city took place in early eighteenth century; mainly by Society of Friends’ members.
