Tourist Guide Wilkes-Barre
Wilkes-Barre is a city that is located in the Northeastern Pennsylvania in United States. It is the head quarters of the Luzerne County and also the central city of the Wyoming valley. The city was established in the year 1769 and was incorporated in the year 1806. It has a population estimated to be about 44,000 as per the records of the census bureau in the year 2000. It is one of the centers of business for the Scranton-Wilkes Barre. The surrounding area of Wyoming valley is designed by the frame work of the Pocono Mountains in the east side and endless mountains in the west side and to the south there is the Lehigh valley. The Susquehanne River flows through in the heart of the valley. It is the point where the city gets bisected and the northwestern border is judged. The interstate highway 81 passes near this city making the city a tourist attraction. The city is also near to the northeast extension of the Pennsylvania turnpike and to the south of the city is the interstate highway 80.
