The town of York is the county seat of York County in south-eastern Pennsylvania, USA. It covers an area of 13.62 sq km and has a population of around 50,000.
York has a humid continental climate. Its proximity to the Atlantic Ocean has a moderating effect on the temperatures. Summers are warm with an average temperature of 27°C. Winters are moderately cold with an average temperature of 5°C.
The peaceful town is steeped in colonial heritage and revolutionary history. Most of its buildings give visitors a peak into the city’s glorious past. Known as ‘America’s first capital’, it was the birthplace of the Articles of Confederation.
Surrounded by a rolling countryside, the town has a simple yet beautiful landscape. Its hilly terrain and climate is conducive to adventure sports like mountain climbing and white water rafting. Its calm atmosphere has made it one of the preferred vacation destinations in USA.
