The Audubon Society of Rhode Island is an Education Centre which has a state-of-the art natural history museum and aquarium. The Colt State Park offers some exciting outdoor activities like biking, hiking, fishing etc. and picnic spots. For a relaxing family vacation, visit Westerly and discover its seven miles of beaches. For a unique encounter with rare species from around the world, visit the award winning Roger Williams Park Zoo, home to more than 1,000 animals. Visit the historical site of Linden Place, a seventeenth-century mansion, featuring some exquisite sculptures. Blithewold Mansion, Arboretum and Gardens, situated on the Bristol Harbour is definitely worth visiting. Visit the Touro Synagogue National Historic Site and witness the oldest synagogue in the United States, where visitors can take an interpretive tour. The New Port Music Festival, held in June, is one of the most popular festivals of the state. The Rhode Island international Film Festival, rated as one of the top film festivals in the country, screens independent films.
