Located in the Atlantic Ocean, Block Island is situated in Washington County in Rhode Island, USA. Separated from the mainland by the Block Island Sound, it covers an area of 25.2 sq km.
The temperature on the island is cooler than that of the mainland because of the ocean. Summers are warm with an average temperature of 25°C. In winter, the average temperature is 3°C.
Heralded as ‘one of the last great places in the Western Hemisphere’, the island is blessed with abundant natural beauty. Long beaches, rolling hills and the 365 freshwater ponds are the main attractions of this island.
