East Greenwich is the county courthouse and a town of Kent County, in the Island of Rhode in United States. This town was integrated in the year 1677 and is situated on the Narrangaset bay. As per the census in 2000, the population of the town was 12,948. East Greenwich is the most affluent town of Rhode Island. Till 1854, the town was one among the five state capitals of Rhode Island. As per the census bureau of the United States, East Greenwich has a total surface area of 43.3 Km2, out of which 42.9 Km2 is land and 0.36 km2 is water. Frenchtown Elementary, Meadowbrook Farms Elementary, James H. Eldredge School, East Greenwich High School etc are the major public schools of East Greenwich. There are numerous clubs, bars and restaurants in the city district. There is ample boat parking area in the coving of the East Greenwich town. Tourists can also see a dock consisting of a small beach and a public dock for eating and fishing. Even though the soil of the town is very stony and rough, it yields crops of barley.
