The state of Rhode Island has a total area of 3,144 sq km. Its capital is Providence and it has a population of 1,048,300.

Located in the United States of America, Rhode Island is bounded by Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island Sound and the Atlantic Ocean. Often referred to as the Ocean State, Rhode Island is home to several oceanfront beaches. It experiences a humid continental climate.

Rhode Island exhibits a non-rhotic accent. Rhode Island has developed an indigenous style of architecture in the seventeenth century, known as the stone-ender. Also, Rhode Island is the only state in the country to celebrate Victory over Japan Day, called Victory Day.

Block Island 10
Absolutely Love Block Island. Food is great. People are great. Beaches are great. Shopping is great. Very peaceful vacation, rain or shine. Has remained quaint for the 25 years we've been going there. Great fudge and ice cream. Dell's lemonade. Hotels are very accommodating and charming. Walk, drive, bike, or take a taxi, it's all good.
