The Smith Appleby House is a farm house that was built in the year 1696 and has been renovated to operate as a museum.

The structure is today included in the National Register of Historic Places. Pawtucket is a small place near Smithfield which covers about 5.5 acres of land and includes a Slater Mill Historic site complex which displays the progress due to industrialization and the life of the people in the 1800s. This mill served as a model for future mills in England.

Chepachet near Smithfield is a place which houses the Glocester Heritage Society which gives information about the history of home building and crafting of furniture in the city and this institute maintains, restores, and preserves cultural, historical and educational artifacts.

Diamond Hill Vineyard is a thirty four acre land which has facilities that specializes in wine making. A tour of this place provides vital information about wine making and different types of wines.
