Westerly is located in Washington County in Rhode Island, USA. This city was founded in 1669, and since, it has been a very popular tourist destination owing to its numerous beautiful beaches.

It houses a population of approximately 23,000 people which swells during the summer season. Some of its most famous beaches are Watch Hill Beach, East Beach, Westerly Town Beach and Misquamicut Beach. Westerly has an area of around 194 sq km, and its landscape is extremely interesting. It comprises hills that were carved out by glacial action during the ice age, underwater rock formations, granite mines and so forth.

The city is blessed with a pleasant climate. The maximum average summer temperature is nearly 26°C, while in winter the maximum average temperature is about 4°C. Tourism and textiles are two of its most prominent sectors that have contributed to the growth of its economy.
