Beaufort is located in Beaufort County in South Carolina, USA. This beautiful city with an area of over 60 sq km is situated on River Beaufort. Home to a population of nearly 13,000, Beaufort is a popular tourist spot. Among the oldest cities in South Carolina, it was discovered by the Spanish in the early sixteenth century and was chartered in the year 1711. Due to its diverse and picturesque landscape, the city has well earned the title of the ‘Queen of the Carolina Sea Island’.
A number of unique and colourful festivals and events are organised through the year, attracting tourists in great numbers. The tropical weather with a plenty of sunshine is an additional feature of this tourist destination.
