The museum complex which has an area of about 107-acres includes the 18th century town site of Camden, a 6 mile Nature trail, a blacksmith exhibit, headquarters for Lord Cornwallis, the constructed and furnished Joseph Kershaw mansion and reconstructions of some of the military fortifications. It also includes partially restored 1795 McCaa House, two early 19th century cabins with exhibits, Cunningham House circa and the restored and furnished 1785 John Craven House.
