Clemson is home to Clemson University, the shores of Lake Hartwell and the South Botanical Garden.
 
As of 2000 census, the population of this city was 11,939 people. By 2009, the population reached to 12,816 people.

As per the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 7.8 square miles, 7.4 square miles is land and the remaining 0.4 square miles is water.
